06.03.2010 Waiting for the Easter

While waiting for the Easter with the first eggs, we enjoy the growth of our keepers. In the pictures you can see a female Pinstripe-Fire and a female Superpastel-Yellowbelly. We held back some other animals like Firefly, Firefly-lesser, Stingerbee-Butter, Piebald, Kingpin-Fire, Lesser-Fire, Enchi het Hypo and more, besides a nice group of Pastel, Spider e Bumblebee all het  for axanthic.

12.02.2010 Glowing and ovulations

With follicols development animals started to glow and ovulate. Now is very important that all males copulate but some do not lust for. The season is still very long and we hope that also the lasy ones will start to breed later.

01.02.2010 After a couple of sheds

Here is the weird morph that we hatched before christmas aftre a couple of sheds. We are growing all the clutch in order to have them ready to breed in 2/3 years. We decided to sell, for higher price than normal,  one fire-lesser male and lesser female of the same clutch. Probably they are not carrier of the hidden gene but since we still don't know for sure what is about everything is possible.

19.01.2010 2010 season

We hatched the last eggs just before christmas the new season already started. From a first ultrasound exam seems a very good year but obviously is too early. The next 2-3 month will tell all about the new season. For the moment we are moving males around even if not all started to breed

15.12.2009 Last 2009 hatch

Finally we got to the last hatch of the year: 1.1 fire, 0.2 lesser, 3.2 fire-lesser from normal female bred to fire-lesser male. It's almost Christmas and the new breeding season is already started. This confirm the fact that ball pythons in captivity lose their natural periodicity.

11.12.2009 It's not over yet

Some more hatching before the end of the season. We hatched some butter and enchi-butter a bit different from average. Not a big difference but the orange-red on the sides is been passed from the mother that is 2005 african selected ones. A path to follow...

07.12.2009 Platinum-Fire or a new morph?

Here 2 more pics of this "odd" animal that we hatched from a Fire-Lesser male and normal african farm-hatched female. The clutch result is: 1.2 normal, 1.1 fire, 0.1 lesser, 1.0 fire-lesser and 0.1 ??? Based on logical deduction the normal ones and the fires are 50% carrier of the "mistery" gene but not the lesser and the fire-lesser. We'll see...

04.12.2009 Christmas gift

We found this nice surprise this morning opening the incubator. At the moment we don't know what it is but is clearly a ball python's Santa Claus nice gift. Let's wait some sheds to see his color development.
