The breeding season enters the most important phase with the first females growing follicols to reach ovulation. From now through all the summer females will ovulate, then shed and after about a month they will lay eggs. In the pictures you can see an orange hypo and a spider females in two different ovulation phases.
While waiting for the Easter with the first eggs, we enjoy the growth of our keepers. In the pictures you can see a female Pinstripe-Fire and a female Superpastel-Yellowbelly. We held back some other animals like Firefly, Firefly-lesser, Stingerbee-Butter, Piebald, Kingpin-Fire, Lesser-Fire, Enchi het Hypo and more, besides a nice group of Pastel, Spider e Bumblebee all het for axanthic.
Here is the weird morph that we hatched before christmas aftre a couple of sheds. We are growing all the clutch in order to have them ready to breed in 2/3 years. We decided to sell, for higher price than normal, one fire-lesser male and lesser female of the same clutch. Probably they are not carrier of the hidden gene but since we still don't know for sure what is about everything is possible.
Here 2 more pics of this "odd" animal that we hatched from a Fire-Lesser male and normal african farm-hatched female. The clutch result is: 1.2 normal, 1.1 fire, 0.1 lesser, 1.0 fire-lesser and 0.1 ??? Based on logical deduction the normal ones and the fires are 50% carrier of the "mistery" gene but not the lesser and the fire-lesser. We'll see...
